Sangria

Red Wine Sangria

1 bottle Spanish red wine

1/3 cup super fine sugar

1 orange, thinly sliced

1 red apple, thinly sliced

1 mango, pit removed and sliced

1 cup orange juice

pinch of salt

1-12 oz can seltzer

In a large pitcher combine the wine and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the remaining ingredients, excluding the club soda, and mix well. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the sangria sit for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours. Just before serving, stir in the club soda and ice cubes.

Makes 8 servings

 

WHITE WINE SANGRIA

1 bottle Spanish white wine

¼ cup super fine sugar

1 lime, thinly sliced

1 lemon, thinly sliced

1 granny smith apple, cored and thinly sliced

1 ½ cups seedless green grapes, sliced in half

1 cup apple juice

½ bunch of mint

Pinch of salt

1 (12 oz) can seltzer water

In a large pitcher combine the wine and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the remaining ingredients, except the club soda, and mix well. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the sangria sit for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours. Just before serving, stir in the club soda and ice cubes.
